WHAT WE PROVIDE
Pierpoint Addiction Treatment Centres, based in St.Annes-on-Sea, Lancashire,provide a comprehensive and "holistic" treatment programme for Men and Women aged 18-64 years. Our Residential facilities comprise of the 9 bed mixed gender DetoxPlus Centre, a 29 bed Primary Treatment Centre at Pierpoint House, and a 16 bed mixed gender Extended Treatment Centre at Holly Lodge. We also provide Aftercare, Family Support and Community Services. All our treatment programmes work from an abstinence-based philosophy so that each person may reach a clearer understanding of their Subsstance Abuse, Dependency or Addiction. We believe that people who have a life-threatening relationship with Drugs and/or Alcohol need a period of time totally substance-free in order to make a clear assessment of their lifestyle. A comprehensive Moduler Therapeutic Programme has been developed to provide a variety of options in order to suit a person's individual needs.
DETOXIFICATION
The DetoxPlus Module provides effective intervention through Assessment Replace Prevention Education. A team of General Practitioners with extensive experience of the process of Detoxification provide a full Medical Assessment after admission.
24-Hour Nursing cover is also provide to ensure that each individual's physical and mental health is appropriately managed in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental,drug and alcohol-free environment. Detoxification can take an average of 14 days, depending on individual needs.The physical discomfort of withdrawal is reduced to a large degree by the reducing regime of the prescribed medication used for detoxification, although some minor physical and psychological symptoms can be experienced. DetoxPlus also offer Alternative Health Support, along-side of our traditional Medicated Detoxification procedure. Auricular Acupuncture and Herbal Teas, such as Sleepy Tea, complement the process, helping to reduce stress and anxiety and restoring natural sleep pattern. Our full time Chef creates healthy and nutritious meals, including vegetarian.
PRIMARY TREATMENT
Pierpoint House provides a 12-week highly structured therapeutic programme. Aftercare and Family support is also provided. The Modified 12-Step Module helps the "out-of-control" User to gain a greater awareness of the full cycle of chemical dependency. Sercvice Users are presented with an understanding of the first 5-Steps with specific focus on their unmanageability with regard to alcohol and/or other drug abuse.The Beyond Addiction Module supports each individual in developing an increased awareness of how their dependency issues filter through into all aspects of their lives. Service Users are encouraged to reach beyond their previously self-designated boundaries into a future which has fulfilment, emotional freedom and most of all choice. The Communication Skills Module is designed to further enhance the re-building of relationships (where appropriate) with family members and significant others, while also learning to use these skills to build ppropriate, functional and supportive relationships with fellow peers.Education Groups, Vedio Lectures, Written Assignments, Theraphy Groups, Counselling are an integral part of the Treatment Programme.
RELAPSE POLICY All Service Users are required to be abstinent during treatment. Should an individual use any mood-altering substance, they will be asked to leave the programme.We believe every individual to be uniquely valuable. However, our foremost responsibility is the protection of the 'therapeutic community' of the House and the maintenance of a dry and clean environment, to provide consistent support and safety for those who are attempting to change their lives.
CONFIDENTIALITY
We recognise the important of confidentiality for all Services Users. Any information given will be treated with respect and only used for the purpose for which it was disclosed. We work closely with all referring agencies and encourage regular reviews and provide regular written progress reports. Pierpoint House works closely with family members and significant others. Family Conferences are suggested to assist the individual in rebuilding bridges and repairing important relationships. NB. This is, however, only ever done with the Services User's express consent.
