Attend our Family Group

Our main aim at Pierpoint is to ensure a full family recovery when a client comes in to treatment. It is important for family members to understand addiction as a disease and how to deal with their loved ones attitudes and behaviours around their drinking/ drug use.

Once a week we hold a family group here at Pierpoint. These groups are lead by a member of our experienced therapy team, and each week will discuss a different topic around addiction. These groups are for family members only, to give them a chance to voice any concerns and ask any questions away from their recovering loved one.

Families that attend these groups get a chance to chat to each other, swap stories, and help each other realise that they are in similar situations. Often the people who have been attending the meetings longest, offer guidance and support outside of these meetings also to those families new to recovery.

We find it important for the family to engage in the recovery process as soon as possible, so if you have a loved one suffering from an addiction, come along to one of our weekly groups for some support and guidance around what help you can offer them and how to get them to accept it.

Families that attend these groups soon learn that it isn’t just about their loved one getting well, but about getting themselves well also. Addiction can put a lot of strain on family life which the whole family needs to recovery from

If you are interested in attending one of our family groups, please do not hesitate to contact our admissions team.
