The Client will be assessed pre- admission and then again prior to commencing Detox, to determine the appropriate Librium dose, based on the Client’s withdrawal symptoms, utilising  CIWA-Ar (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment of Alcohol Scale) the Client’s height, weight and how much Alcohol is normally used by the Client.

If there is a medical reason for not using Librium (e.g.the client has liver failure) our G.P’s will prescribe suitable alternatives.
