Understanding your Addiction...
Treatment is about helping you find out what is necessary to support changes you need to make in order to maintain an abstinent way of life. This sounds daunting, but many thousands of people like you have achieved it! They have managed to get off the merry-go-round of dependency or addiction. Their success is your hope! You will be able to identify with the experiences of other clients on the programme and be encouraged and motivated by their success.
You will be with other people who know what you are going through and can identify with your difficulties. They will encourage and support you, and as you progress you will encourage others. You will work in groups with people aged between 18 and 64 from all walks of life, so the life experiences can be extremely varied. You will also benefit from individual counselling, lectures and assignments, within a structured programme that is conducted in a safe and supportive environment.
Exploring the reality of your addictive behaviour is an integral feature of the Pierpoint way.

During treatment you are not faced with everyday distractions...
You don't have to worry about meals, laundry, cleaning — these chores, except for therapeutic duties, are done for you. We want you to focus one hundred percent on yourself during treatment, with as few distractions as possible, including that of the opposite sex -which is why we are the foremost Treatment Centre in the country for gender-specific treatment!

On-going treatment...
Once you have successfully completed Detox and Primary treatment, you can if it is considered appropriate, continue on to Secondary Care to deal with any unresolved underlying issues, with a view to achieving a deeper emotional recovery.
For those who need it, Pierpoint also provides a unique post- treatment supervised AftercarePlus programme, the aim of which is to support our Clients' reintegration back into mainstream society as respected citizens, and help them to access voluntary work, further education and training, as well as career opportunities.
